The ongoing search to find missing missionary pilot, his wife and their passengers in Venezuela!
TECHNOLOGY UPDATES - Click Here
February 16, 2009 started out like many other days for Bob Norton and his wife, Neiba. They were serving as medical aviation missionaries in the jungles of Venezuela. On this particular morning, Bob and Neiba had a full plane load. A school teacher, Gladys, along with four Indigenous Indians and full tanks of gas. To say that he was loaded heavy would be correct. Over capacity on people in a four seat Cessna 182? Yes. Over capacity on weight? Possibly. Typical flight for a jungle pilot? Absolutely!

With minimum resources and old equipment, often the conditions are not ideal. Not to mention the rough grass and mud landing strips carved out of the jungle floor that Bob flew in and out of on a regular basis. He had accumulated over 5000 hours of flight time, most of it flying sick and injured Indians out of the jungle to advanced medical care. These were the typical days of Captain Bob Norton with Adventist Missionary Aviation (AMA).
But this Monday morning was not like any of the challenging days before because this time Bob and Neiba didn’t come home. Something happened on that flight from jungle runway to jungle runway, dropping some Indians off and picking up others. Something happened that now, nearly four years later is still a mystery. They are still missing and we are still searching using every means possible. This web site is dedicated to the complex, ongoing search to find them all.
